Wycliffe has worked closely with its partner organization in Indonesia, Kartidaya, to aid victims of last December?s devastating tsunami. Funded by various Wycliffe organizations and Indonesian donors, Kartidaya is administering an emergency project fund of about $2.5 million Cdn. Additional aid is being provided by JAARS, Wycliffe's partner for technical support based in Waxhaw, N.C. Pilots and maintenance crews, on loan from JAARS, are working with Samaritan's Purse to operate and maintain a helicopter as well as a Cessna aircraft used in relief efforts. ?The tsunami that has destroyed so many and so much?has devastated language communities throughout the region,? said John Watters, director of Wycliffe International. ?Pray that God would extend mercy and compassion through the hands of all who are helping.?
